JAMB conducts mock exams January for 2018/2019 candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said candidates are now free to have any higher institution as their preferred first choice this year in their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
They can select a college of education, university, innovation enterprise institution, polytechnic/monotechnic, Nigerian Defence Academy and the Police Academy as their first-choice institutions, JAMB spokesperson Dr Fabian Benjamin said in a statement.
“As we prepare for the 2018 examination beginning with the optional mock in January, we urge candidates to ensure that they register on time, make informed choices of institutions, disciplines and examination towns,” he said.
He said the board had democratized admission processes in 2017 especially by the introduction of a Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), a software that “open the process up for everybody to see who is admitted, with what aggregate score, and who is not and why is he/she not admitted.”
